Hey guys ,

after posting yesterday about my new pc and all that i had problems getting power on the machine. This has all been fixed thnx for that. But now i wanted to boot up and enter bios to set everything up for use. But it seems that it doesnt detect the HDD in the bios.

I got it on sata entrance 2 now. Before i had it on 1 and it didnt detect it there either. Now ofc i cant go on without a HDD cuz i cant install anything

My spec is as followed:
I5 2500k
P67S-C43 (b3)
4gb ddr3 1333
gtx 560 ti
chieftek 550w PSU

can some1 help me out here its my first build!

Have you connected a SATA power cable to the HDD?

If it's all connected up properly and bios doesn't recognise it there's something wrong with either the drive or the board.

Edit: never heard of that PSU. I'd be wary of trusting all your shiny new bits to it.

What drive is it? I had an issue with an SSD and a detection delay option in the bios solved the problem. Look for an option and see if you have a detection delay or staggered spin up option.

ok i have tried chaging the sata cable from the dvd thing (wich is detected ) and use it for the HDD , also switched sata ports. But again no luck. i have no spare Sata disk wich i can try and i have no idea what a cmos is??? im sorry guys im total noob and this is my first build.

oke so ill return the HDD and see if a new one does work??
Oke ill try that 2morrow cuz i have to go away now.

Thnx guys ill keep this updated.

My GD65 does the exact same thing, although in the bios it's picked up, and on the post screen it says no disk detected

still works, so i aint complaning....

Think it might be due to using an hdd that had windows 7 already installed from my last build

so as promised i would post here if i figured it out. It seems the HDD was faulty. As i put in a new Samsung spinpoint f3. This was detected immediatly!
Thnx for all the help guys pc is runnign like a charm. Next thing is buying a cooler and OC the beast:D
