new to the forum, using GF account she bought me the PC as a present.

As the title says Ive had the PC little over a week with no issues at all.
Temps fine really stable build. here are the details:

I5 2500k
MSI P67A-GD53
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 FLEX

all speeds are stock, no overclocking

Well went to turn it on today and the PC powered on but nothing on the monitor.

Ive looked inside and the motherboard lights according to the manual are stuck on 6 phase power mode. the PC just hangs.

Any suggestions, thanks in advance.

Make sure everything is connected and nothing has come loose first.

Reset CMOS, remove CMOS battery for 10 minutes and replace.

Remove RAM and try reseating it one stick at a time in each memory DIMM slot.

tried resetting the cmos , moved the jumper position, removed battery for ten minutes,

powered up with only one stick in each slot.

still nothing. what a nightmare.

no beeps,

no hard drive light

just all fans going and 6 phase power mode constant blue lights.

Have you tried another monitor/TV screen maybe? Different HDMI/DVI cable?

According to this thread on the MSI forum, the LED on the motherboard just means the the CPU power phases are active.

Next thing would be to take it apart and rebuild it outside of the case and to check the CPU/motherboard for damage etc.

Need to rule out a short circuit.

well rebuilt outside case and still the same.

don't think the monitor is the issue ive tested it on my old PC.
plus the hard drive light doesn't come on new build.

As i say, I had a similar sounding issue and it was down to my plug socket. Sounds crazy, but worth a bash!

not the plug checked that.

just checked the CPU no burn etc. fitted correctly

i tried my old graphics car in and i managed to get a blinking cursor in the top left with 89 in the bottom right but again wouldn't boot.

what are overclockers like about returns ?

cant believe this

don't know what else to try

EDIT: the pc worked fantastic for a week, cpu managed fine heavy music production and crysis 2 maxed.

Hi there:)

Did you try doing what was mentioned early on in this thread?

Use a stick of ram in say the furthest slot from the cpu, and keep moving it closer each time to see if theres a response.

You can but try it:)

well i know nobody is talking to me lol. but the best i can manage is a black screen with 98 in the bottom right. ive tested the memory on another PC and its fine. HD ok , gonna send the graphics card back and the motherboard.

tested the graphics card on my old rig and its black screen, also the new motherboard wont boot with my old PCI E card in it. jst black screen. FFS

can anyone tell me the original bios number the graphics card sapphire 6950 should be on, because mine was set on 2 when i opened it. Ive read that's the fail safe bios setting why would a new card be on that setting.

BF3 Friday will not be happening for me , gonna be even worse when it comes through the letterbox.

How quick is the RMA service ?

The rma service is down to the company.

all depends on when they recieve it, when they look it, when they send a replacement etc......

overclockers are really good for delivery so the replacement would only take about 2 days really.

i would get it sent off first thing tomorrow and then just hope it comes back on friday or you may have to wait till saturday to play.....
