Hey OcUK
This is my first solo computer build without my father's help, and i'm really excited about it, problem is that i've hit some problems.
I've connected everything, but when i turn on the computer the fans spin and everything, but there is absolutely no output to the monitor so i have no idea what's failing, can't check if memory settings are at fault or anything.
CD drive pops out, no idea why that's relevant anyway but i suppose that it shows that i at least did something right :D
Oh and is it normal for the bar on the CPU to require quite a bit of force to get down?

The rig is:
Gigabyte P35 DS3
Intel 2160
Corsair DDR2-800 XMS2 2GB(only 1GB plugged in right now)
Nvidia Gefore 9600GT
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
Corsair VX 450W

Unfortunately there's no speaker AFAIK, none on the Antec 900 chassis or on the MOBO, would love to know if it's actually able to POST or anything.

The PCI-E power connector is in, along with both power connections to the motherboard.

I will check my CPU, but i checked both the CPU and the motherboard socket for any bent pins before inserting the cpu. This was the first time i've ever tried to install a CPU before, i just slowly dropped it into the socket with the right alignment, don't suppose anything could go wrong there?

ATX12V is in there correctly, tried both of them(2 x 4 on the power cable) three times now and it doesn't work. Gonna try the graphics card in my rig to see if it's dead.

Okay people, thanks for all your help, i really love the people at this site, always willing to lend a hand :D

Now... get ready to laugh, i use a dual monitor setup, and of course i have had the computer plugged into the wrong monitor all the time. I must have been confusing it with the constant reboots when it was running fine all along :P

Still have a few issues, power works weird, whenever i turn it off it turns itself right back on, but overall it's looking fine. Now to get completely nervous by the weird Vista install :P

Thank you again :D

Hehe well it's not for me, so he'll have the troubles of Vista, running Vista on my own rig though, not as bad as they say.

Kinda stuck now though, gonna have to slipstream SP2 onto an XP install disk, install that and then use the vista upgrade thingie, hate Microsoft for that little idea.
