New build not finding monitor help!!!!!

Ok, me and a mate just put together a new pc.

When you press the powerbutton everything seems to come on but when you look at the monitor there is nothing.

Its not the graphics card as I have tried a spare one I have and still nothing.

Any ideas?

This is the build

All power connectors installed including the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power. Try each memory stick and reset the CMOS.

Are there any beeps at all?

This might appear like a *really* stupid question, bt I urge you to double check - Is the monitor a) on and b) not set with the brightness right down?

I once was working on a computer that had exactly the same problem as you described, and spent hours and hours trying to get it to work. I then worked out that the brightness on the monitor was at 0. I slapped myself really[i/] hard.

I assume that it doesnt have a OS installed yet?
Does it sound like it is searching the hard drives and trying to get going?

Are you able to try a different monitor, or that monitor on a different system?

I had a little trouble getting my new build with those core components booting last week. Took me three attempts, but has worked fine since then.

Its not the monitor either as I am using that on my pc nwow to post this.

It only seems to have a 4pin connector to conenct above the cpu. . . does that sound right?

The motherboard will have a 24 pin connector near the edge and an 8 pin connector near the processor. The 8 pin connector may have had a blanking plug blocking off half of the pins that will to be need removed before you can use the 8 pin connector from the Corsair.

Well theres x2 4 pins the first has 2 square pins and 2 shaped pins, the other 4 pins are all shaped, however the 8 pin connector on the mobo has squares in both sides, so only 1 x4 can fit in.
