Bought some new bits and fitted them today though no POST. Also ordered a cooler and a P5N-E SLi nForce 650 separately but they stupidly went to a different address (whole different story) so I have to wait for them. I bought a P5N32-SLi of a well known auction site by mistake thinking it was the P5N-E SLi nForce 650 which actually arrived today. I though why the hell not, I'll fit it and have a play with the C2D along with my shiney new Ballistix RAM.
Anyways, fitted it all and no post and no error beeps. Double checked every connection and still the same. PC turns on, all fans on, I can hear the HDD's spinning when I put my ear close to them and the southbridge LED is lit up. Only thing not new is the board. The seller seemed a nice genuine chap, and for £20, and his feedback, I didn't think he'd sell me a duff board. So, if it is the board I reckon it's been damaged in transit. A visual inspection reveals no missing capacitors, all jumpers are fine etc.
Plugged all my old kit back in and boot first time.
So, board or something anal that I've missed?
