Just put together the system in my sig... atm running just 1 stick of RAM, and the GFX and CPU in the board and I get power, fans spinning but NO POST I have connected both the 24pin and 4 pin connector to the motherboard any idea's.

PSU has 25a on the 12v line and is a 480W is it the PSU? I`ve checked the CPU is mounted properly and it is... there are no pins on the CPU just gold contacts and it just sits on top of the pins in the socket.

Make sure mobo is not grouding/shorting to case or such, does you mobo require the 1 or 2 extra 12v cables that plug in normally above cpu socket or ram slots ?

I dunno its the Gigabyte P35C DS3R I have a 24 pin connector - connected and a 4 pin connector connected... there are no other power connections to the motherboard that I can see...

Other then that I have the 6pin PCI-E power connection on the gfx connected and at power on - the fan spins... if I don't connect any power to gfx it makes a whiny sound.

I removed the graphics card and still same thing no post no beeps and then took the ram out with the graphics in again no post no beeps. My brother was saying when he got his 965-DS3 and E6300 it wouldn't POST at first reckoned the contacts needing cleaning... he couldn't post for a few hours then suddenly it started posting. Anyone had similar?

I found out what the problem was but I didn't notice it at first... some of the pins in the bottom middle of the socket were defective its only when I saw my mates motherboard which is exactly the same as mine that I knew for sure they were damaged. Gigabyte P35C-DS3R watch out for bent pins on reciept it can screw you royally.

On top of that becuase I tried to reseat the CPU about 8 times one of the contacts on the CPU came off! So now I have 2 RMA's in progress and the motherboard will take about 4 weeks to be replaced!!
