Hi,
Last week i made a post about what set up i should get, so i went ahead and ordered the Asrock extreme4 gen3, i5 2500k and 8gb (2x4gb) of Gskill RipJawsX
The build went fine (fully completed on Friday), after installing windows 7 everything seemed great. I was playing a game today and BAM, total shutdown.
As I'm quite cautious of overclocking i didn't mess around with any settings. Everything was running stock.
When i go to power on my pc, it powers on for a split second and the case fans spin, but nothing happens, (and it then loops this process) no error codes on the motherboard, Nothing.
What Ive tried:
PSU power supply test > everything is fine.
removed all HDD cables and tried power on > nothing changed
Switched both RAM sticks in slots > nothing changed
tested 1 ram stick > nothing changed
Removed graphics and sound card > nothing changed.
Which leaves me thinking there is only 3 things that it could be:
Faulty motherboard
Faulty RAM
Faulty CPU
Giving that everything was working for almost 2 days, (cpu temp was 30idle/40load) I think its unlikely to be the RAM and/or CPU, but i could be wrong.
These are the 3 components i cant test, i dont have an 1155 cpu/mobo or any other ddr3.
If anyone has an input, of what i should do next, that would be greatly appreciated. Your help is needed!
