Hi guys,

After some suggestions regarding a build I'm helping a pal put together.

Basically the machine powers up, fans spin etc then it beeps and resets in a continuous loop. I tried everything I could think of... removed everything (gpu/ram), one stick of ram in every slot... and couldn't get anything. Removing the hdd stopped the single beep but it kept restarting in a loop.

Specs:
Intel Core i5-4460 3.20GHz
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X
Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO
TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz
Gigabyte B85M-DS3H Intel B85 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard

Also using an older Corsair 400w psu, which should be sufficient I would have thought.

Ended up putting his old parts back in the box... any ideas?

was the additional 8pin connected in mobo? was the CPU fan correctly installed and plugged in?

Yes the CPU power was connected! I double and triple checked as was the CPU fan.

Try a CMOS reset -sometime helps and also cheek the socket for bent pins.

Didn't have a jumper but I took the battery out, which I assumed would clear the CMOS. Yeah, checked for bent pins but it was all good.

im only seeing f5 f6 bios's on giga website,it would say f4 aswell I think if it ships with that

your better of emailing gigabyte uk and asking them, they will probably ask you to send the board in for flashing

only other way would be to buy the cheapest Pentium cpu and using that to flash bios with
