Hi Guys,

Just brought the following stuff

1 x Intel Core i5-6400 2.70GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail= £155.99
1 x Team Group Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (TPKD48GM2400HC16DC0= £29.99
1 x Crucial BX200 240GB SSD SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive (CT240BX200SSD1)= £55.99
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 380 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (AXR9 380 4GBD5-PPDHE)= £169.99
1 x Gigabyte H110M-S2H Intel H110 (Socket 1151) DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard= £46.99

And it won't boot up. I have used my old 600w PSU OCZ Modstream

I have plugged everything in apart from the gfx card.

But I hear no beeps, and nothing is going to my monitors. I have took both sticks of ram out. Made sure everything is plugged in but still nothing. There is no manual in the box, and the online one isn't very helpful :(

Hmmm check there are no bent pins in the cpu socket also you could try building the pc outside the case with the minimal components.

If that dont work then maybe look at your psu borrow another so you can check.

at the moment I have the motherboard on my bed. the 2 sticks of ram. the screen connected via hdmi and the brand new ssd.

still no beep at all. cpu fan is going round.

I have seen another guy is having the same problem. dodgy batch of gigabyte motherboards maybe ?

Can you try different ram?
I ask as I can`t see your ram on the `approved`list for that mobo :)
Can you use a dsub or dvi-d lead?

Did have the same symptems with a gigabyte board a long time ago but you gotta check the obvious before you send it back.

I would Contact overclockers and see if you can send the cpu and ram aswell as the motherboard so they can test it.

Can you enter the motherboard bios ? ( To access the BIOS Setup program, press the <Delete> key during the POST at power up )

Are you trying to ' boot-up' a version of Windows from a previous build ( i.e same hard drive ) ?

Okay so I've tried D-sub, DVI and HDMI nothing on any of them.

I have no other spare parts, no PSU or RAM. The PSU was fine in my old system 5 mins before I took it out and put in here. I took the speaker out my old case and it has not beeped once.

I can't do anything to the bios I can't even see it. I took the battery out for 10mins aswell.

Will it boot with no RAM in ?

Have you tried to power up without a graphics card installed ?

Should atleast get a beep/post sound ( use 1 stick of ram ).

yupp tried without the gfx card and still the same. tried with it still the same. the gfx card fans don't even spin.

Sounds like a duff mobo or psu then, but if you say your psu was fine before then it does point heavilly towards the mobo ( even a weak psu should post just a mobo without gfx card )

:(

Yeah the PSU was running my old rig with an old hdd with only windows on it no drivers or anything cos my old SSD went bust last Tuesday.

Gonna google now see if its occurred to somebody before and call OC in the morning.

If by 'better' , you mean it works then lets hope so :D

Nothing wrong with Gigabyte though, you were just unlucky if you received a doa board.

Fingers crossed for you :)

Haha yes i do.

hopefully comes tomorrow.

I did notice the Asus only has a 4 pin connector at the top compared to the 8pin on gigabyte. Is there a reason for this ?
