Hi, I'm trying to help my mate out with a build.
The problem we're having is that the PC will not post when it is switched on. The parts that are being used are:
WinFast NF4SK8AA
1GB Crucual RAM
AMD X2 380
Connect3D Radeon 9250 (PCI)
The problem is that the system will not do anything but spin its fans up when the power button is pressed. When everything is connected properly, there are no beep codes or signal on the monitor.
What has been tried and is in place:
Power supply connected via the 3 types of connection to motherboard(20pin, 4pin and molex). I have tried two power supplies also, so it doesn't look like they are the problem.
I have tried it with and without the graphics card in. Also I have tried it with a PCI Express graphics card, so it shouldn't be the graphics card either.
RAM, I have tried in every slot on the board as well as without any in, with no beep codes at all for those.
I've tried resetting the CMOS also, and that's not helped either.
The CPU is seated correctly also.
After searching here for the motherboard model number, I did find a thread with a similar problem, but I don't think the original poster of the thread ever confirmed if it was the motherboard at fault at the time.
Have you any other suggestions? Or could this be a duff board?
Thanks in advance.
