Greetings to one and all

I recently purchiced a XFX 6850 as a christmas present to my self, to which didn't work so it put it down to being an nforce chipset conflict on my old motherboard.
I replaced that with a Asus Crosshair 3 which supports Cross fire.

However i have now come into a new problem, the system doesn't power on when the graphics cards connected 6 Pin PCI-E power adaptor just causes the system to get a simple surge of power and boot ups the fans then cuts out.
I then tried to replace the graphics card with my old Nvidia 260, which caused the same problems (and i know this works).

When i disconnect the graphics cards and take them out it works fine.

Also one point the PSU was the making a clicking noise... so im tempted to say the PSU doesnt have enough juice ? I dont want to spend £50+ more since i spent £500 already on this upgrades.

I have a 700W JeanTech PSU.

Should i RMA everything ? Any suggestions ?

3 years old, problem is i dont want to buy a new PSU and its not that, argh this is frustrating to no end.

I just plugged it into my old board, while there is no display with the old card its not cutting out.

Tried and failed, power is physicly being cut out from the Mobo because the LEDs go off and pop back on after a second.

Im going to work on the basis if i throw more money at it the problem will go away, im going to be buying a new PSU.

Here is the specs for the laughs.

In your first post you said a OCZ 700W PSu? was that a mistake? think you found a likely cause of your problems.

The PSU is a awful make / model, try changing this, but can you try running external to the case.

Was a mistake, listed OCZ from my brothers build i did a few weeks back.

Ran it external to the case, same problems.

As i narrow it down im going to say it is the PSU, it cuts out, sometimes just flickers the LED with a clicking so im guessing the voltage regulators cutting out because its being drained to much... atleast im saying this because its the only possable thing it could be.

Any good ?

Decided and just went ahead witht he PSU order; will be here by wednesday due to bank holiday.

im worried because they state on the website there is a £10 charge on goods not found faulty so if i misdiagose a part then there will be charges added :/

Update:

My power supply arrived today and its worked a treat :)

Thank you to both who helped me; much appreciated !
