New build not turning on...

Hello there!

I got my new parts today and tried to put it together after many struggles with installing the Coolermaster ma410m cooler...I tried to test the basics before putting it in the case and it wont power on.

It's a Ryzen 5 2600X with Gigabyte B450 Auros Elite motherboard plugged into corsair ax750 plus gold with Corsair RGB Vengeance ram.

Basically the system shows very little signs of life, the RGB Ram sticks light up but nothing else none of the mobo lights or anything. I've tested the PSU and it seems fine and tried powering by both shorting the header and plugging the case header in but nothing happens when I try.

When its first plugged in a blue flash on the rgb elements of the board comes across but thats it. Currently after reseating the cooler and cpu I've only l got the fans plugged in to the cpu header. I've tried removing the cmos battery for a minute too and it just doesnt seem to work.

Guessing something is dead but unsure which part I will need to RMA or is there anything else I can try. Currently without a windows machine and its killing me having to use Samsung dex

When you say troubles installing the cooler... That's not right you probably broke something!...

Assuming you have tested with the minimal stuff plugged in are you sure you have all the correct power cables attached ... Are you using a video card? Have you reseated it ?

I am hoping not as I think one of my problems with the cooler was, being overly careful with not putting pressure on it.

Yep 12V into top card and 24 pin. I did test with the video card at first but took it out and havent put it in since reseating the cooler and cpu

Installation process being challenging seems to be "working as intended" for that cooler designed for bling bling look.

(could have gotten more powerfull cooler for quite lot less)

First thing to try would be clearing CMOS.
Then trying minimum parts with one DIMM and graphics card.
Also removing motherboard from case and testing on table (non conductive surface) would be another thing.

Glad it's not just me. I did read a couple of other reviews and they didnt mention it and it seemed adequate for me. (Lesson learnt )

I did take the cmos battery out for a bit and tried clearing it but didnt seem to help. Also not put it into the case yet just attaching the header to the motherboard

So it seems at some point during installation I bent the pins Luckily I can get it replaced.

You should look reviews for images, unless reviewer can be trusted to truly look for everything, instead of just playing parrot with marketing material.
Heck of lots of "reviews" which don't actually qualify even for preview.

Not sure I'd have guessed from images that I would have so much trouble but defo not getting one with spring screws again! (Luckily I ended up getting it from Amazon and so they have agreed to refund it). So now just need to find a cooler thats easier to install.

Actually rather than bad design, it seems like bad instructions! I was looking for a new cooler when I discovered an installation video on youtube for the Evo 212, well it has practically identical mounting to the ma410m and I discovered they used a screwdriver from the top to get the screws in instead of the silly little spanner thing Coolermaster tells you to use in their instructions!

So this morning, I tried it out and yep installs in about 20 minutes by removing the fans, then using the screwdriver from the top (they are just about accessible). I'm very confused as to why this isn't the official method of installing this cooler. (Admittedly that was without the CPU in place).

Sigh!
