Hey Guys,

I made a new build and it currently wont boot.

Here is my setup:

The mobo lights red for "dram" so i press the "ok mem" button, it runs its tests but no good.

Looking in the manual, it supports 2400mhz team ram but timings 10-12-12-31, the 2 sticks i have say 11-13-13-35, is this the issue?

How quick are OC at turning around a return for compatible memory?

Any help is appreciated.

thank you

The timings on the sticks are slower than what you say it can support, this means it should be easier on the memory controller to handle.

I have tried just a single stick and still no luck in either slot.

Im at a loss. I have the HDMI in, when i pull it out, the monitor goes in standby, when i plug it back in, it comes out of standy by, tries to find a signal then goes back again.

Are there any other tests i can do?

Thank you

I assume all power connectors are connected including the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power.

Have you tried a CMOS reset?

Also check the cpu socket for any damaged pins.

Hey, Thanks for the advice. I sorted it in the end. May be useful for anyone else with this setup:

The mobo is so tightly packed, the CPU cooler fins were ever so slightly touching the Ram and other surrounding components (literally brushing them). I ended up just slightly bending the bottom couple of rad fins on the cooler up to get them away and presto, booted up perfectly.

Next issue, the bios is only recognizing my ram as 1333mhz when they are 2400mhz. I can set their profile as 2400mhz but the bios is still seeing them as 1333mhz.

Thank you

Load the XMP profile and save+exit.

Download CPU-Z and see what speed the memory tab is reporting (should be 1200Mhz as DDR = double so = 2400Mhz)

Perfect, ill give it a go.

Currently have no OS as my Windows 8.1 USB ISO wont work. After BIOS and trying to install, its telling me windows is missing some drivers and doesnt allow me to install OS, pain in the ass.
