(Solved, it works now)

Hi

I just moved my PC from its Antec 900 case to a Coolermaster Stacker 832.

Specs are:

E6600
4096MB of DDR2
GeForce 8800GTX
nForce 680i SLI
X-Fi Prelude
Raptor X
250GB WD Caviar SE

I built the PC myself in the first place; and it was working 100% solid. After the move, the motherboard light is on as usual, and pressing the power button turns on the PC. All the fans spin including on the graphics card, and the PC seems to POST. The motherboard displays LCD shows "FF" which is the code that everything is working 100%.

I just cant actually use the PC, because nothing is displayed on the screen. Tried using two different monitors and also replaced the 8800GTX with a 7600GT and it doesnt help at all.

I cleared the CMOS, now it displays "F5" which means post error, please follow onscreen instructions. Obviously I cant. (It's probably something to do with my hard drives which I will need to set in the BIOS)

Ideas?

About ready to throw the entire PC in a ditch and leave it there

Reseated both the 8800GTX and 7600GT several times so it isn't that. Checked the wiring, made sure heatsink is seated on CPU, checked RAM, used 3 monitors.

Unbelievable. I was using my dads old laptop to post this and look up some stuff. About 5 minutes ago the screen was spammed with command lines, a windows error came up telling me system files had been overwritten and an unbelivable amount of adverts and programs started opening. I ripped the network card out and now i'm on my EEE pc! Serves me right for trying to use a non-SP1 XP machine online, I forgot how easily it becomes compromised.

Thanks for the ideas so far though.

Sorry for poor typing its hard on this thing.

If you do end up throwing it in a ditch then please wrap it in a bin bag and let me know which ditch you threw it in :D

:D

Thanks for the help everyone, rig up and running perfectly!

I just re did the entire thing and it booted. I think something was being shorted out the first time round.
