New Build not working

Hi all,

Mate got a new build set up but is having problems, and not sure how to fix it.

Specs:

8800gt
E6750
2x1gb Corsair XMS2
P5N-E SLI

He Presses power button and says it just turns off within 5 seconds and most of the time it doesnt show anything on screen, but a few times it has flashed up with the asus logo. Checked all connections lots of times, don't know what to try :/

Any suggestions for us to look at?

Not able to check the ram and clear the cmos right now but will do.

He says Power Supply is 500W but doesn't know the make (eek lol).
 
OK says he has swapped about the ram etc and reset cmos but now says it randomly freezes when booting on bios, said it also tries to load windows sometimes but flashes with a blue screen and then pc restarts.

He needs to reformat hard drive and reinstall, thats the cause of the blue screen ;)

Any suggestions?
 
The usual 1 Beep is what I have been told. Anyway he said the freezing has stopped but he can't boot into windows (trying to use old hard drive with it installed already) so I have told him to try formatting, could be working now. I will update.
 
Right he has tried manually setting the ram voltage. But did not make a difference. It freezes randomly, he managed to format, but it freezes whilst trying to install windows half way through. Sometimes it won't even turn on and takes a lot of tries.

Any more ideas?
