Hi,

Just put together my desktop and nothing is happening :S

I've built computer before and never had this problem I've tried taking the BIOS batter out and clearing CMOS

Can you post the spec first of all. Things to try is boot with just the bare essentials, i.e. CPU, GFX, 1 stick of RAM. Also have you installed the SATA drivers? Do any of the LEDs (if there are any on the PSU or mobo) light up when you plug the machine into the wall socket? Tried different power cables?

Spec is Tagan 480W PSU, E2180 CPU, GA-P35-DS3 mobo, 8800GT gfx

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) ram

The lights on the keyboard flash when I turn the power plug on

Well that at least means that power is getting to it. I take it you can't even get in to BIOS. Have you tried booting into them without hard drivers connected with only 1 RAM stick? Also not sure how your mobo works but have a read the manual it may have a some sort of a safe FSB jumper.

Is the mother board shorting on the case sounds like that would cause what you are describing. Just make sure its lifted off the case. Thats all I can tihnk of with the info so far.

Moleh

Hmm if it's not bolted straight to the case (highly doubt it if you build a PC before) and PSU is working fine all I can think of is that it may be a dodgy CPU as I had similar symptons when mine died. No chance of testing components individually in another machine?
