New build nothing happens

Just put together an am1 5150
Msi am1i
2gb ram
500w psu

All put together press the power button nothing.

Check all connections
Dis the paper clip in the 24 pin and the pau starts
Tried the power button off my main rig nothing

Took it out the case to try it open still nothing.

Any ideas what it could be?

Theres a little 4pin connector on the board, have you fitted that?

Yeh done that.

Have managed to get it to come on now from power button pushed the 24pin down a bit harder but no display to any monitor over dvi or hdmi. No signal

Maybe clear the CMOS.

Is the battery not that black round thing with two wires coming out going into the little header on the board?

There's usually a jumper mate where you have to remove the cap and short the pins. Check the motherboard manual

It should be next to the mini PCIE slot entitled "JBAT1".

Yeh tried that just. Nothing.

Just chucked a r7 260x into it and still no display.

Also tried a 3rd psu to make sure

IS the power button connected correctly? try shorting the pins with a screw driver.

Yeh its powering on now just no display from onbaord dvi or hdmi. Or a dedicated 260x dvi or hdmi

It obviously should just work, its only three or four simple parts.

Try another RAM stick.

Yeh i know ive swapped ram slots everything now.

Resteated thecpu just. Its all powers up cpu fan spins but no display

Nope still nothing tried 4gb crucial ballostix out my sons which i know works

No tried both and the 4k cycles through all inputs

Its the board.

It doesnt need a BIOS update, the release BIOS supports that CPU.

Try one other PSU then its looking like the boards at fault.

Tried my corsair 850m and the sons evga 430w both power but no display

Guy in this thread had same platform and issue. New mobo solved it.
