New Build old parts not working

As the title suggests i have just finished a new build from old parts but it wont boot. The motherboard is getting power as it lights up as normal but the fans dont start and i am not getting a post. :confused:

What are the specs.

Memory in correct slots, 8 or 4 pin cpu power connected.

Ok its a Asus P5B, 4GB RAM (2x2) 8pin cpu power (plugged in). I have tried the memory as individual sticks and i know they are in the correct slots

have you used the CPU with this board before? May need BIOS flash. i have had a problem that sounds the same in the past

i kept the same cpu/mobo/ram and just moved it to another case with a psu, disks

Try a CMOS reset and double check all connections, try removing from case and running external.

Reset the CMOS no change. everything looks to be connected ok.

Are you sure you didn't scratch mobo during removing operation, or there is no shortage inside ? Did you remove CPU (if yes - check pins in the socket). What's PSU's brand ?
