Morning
Just looking to build a mid budget rig

So far i am thinking CoolerMaster N200 case

Will house dvdrom, 1TB HDD & 128GB SSD, have spare barracuda and might get crucial as ssd, something cheap

Motherboard-wise i need usb 3, 6gb sata. In regards to pci slot for gpu, does x2 or x3 make any difference? that you can actually notice? I need a cheapish mobo for this, looking at H81 chips perhaps?

On board sound will be used
dual channel ram, 8gb

GPU will most likely be r9 270 upwards

Not sure about psu yet, again need something 500-600w possibly semi modular

cheapish dvdrw drive, not even sure if those are still used

standard mouse and keyboard.

Any suggestions or advise is very welcome. Thank you :)

Hi there,

Why were you thinking about the N200, is the size of the case or the look?

Is this going to be for gaming?

What is your overall/max budget?

I think its not too big, has all the features i need. To be honest mate of mine said he wants it for WOW, and that can be run on a tablet :D budget is around 500, all the main components.
Is there a better case for simmilar price?

Is your friend in Overclocking atall? As WoW is more CPU heavy and single threaded the chips that stands out in my mind is the Pentium K. This chips flourishes when overclocked. Though this will require a fair bit of extra cost.

Though I hear of a BIOS update for lower boards to accommodate Overclocking.

Asus has announced that via a BIOS update, its cheaper H87, H97, B85 and H81 motherboards will be able to tap into multiplier control too, which could bring the price down even further.

Even it he's not overclocking its a great chip for the uses.

I am looking at 4440 i5 chip for him, should do the trick. He knows nothing about pc hardware and overclock probably means nothing to him :D

I think this would be spot on,

The i5 would add nothing over the Pentium in WoW as there the same (similar) clockspeed and threading (of any kind) does nothing for WoW.

Maybe you can OC it for him?

I included an Asus motherboard so when the get around to releasing the BIOS you can OC it to improve FPS. :)
