Okay it's got to that time of year where I can'y hold off any longer and I've decided to splash some cash on a new computer build.

The machines going to be used for part gaming and also some virtual testing of Server Products and Desktop OS's running an internal network enviroment so hence the Q6600.

These are the system spec's I've gone for, any recommended tweeks on the parts? (Will be running main OS as Vista Ultimate 64/Office 2007 Ultimate).

Intel Quad Q6600 (Cooled by Zalman 9700)
Asus P5E X38 Motherboard
Tagan TG580 PSU
Geil 2GB PC2-6400C4 Low Latency (x2, so total 4GB RAM)
BFG 8800GTS OC
Antec P182 Case (Black)
Seagate 500gb HD
Creative Xi-FI Gamer Sound Card
Pioneer DVR-115 (x2)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

AStaley.

for the price of that gfx card you could get a GTX am i right? if so, get a GTX.

also if you want an OC out of that chip, you'll need a good cpu cooler.

depending on how big an OC you want, smallest to biggest oc look at:

arctic freezer 7 pro
tuniq tower
thermalight 120 extreme- with whichever 120mm fan you wish to put on it

and I'm not too sure about that PSU, personally I'd get a nice corsair one.

The good GTX's are all around £300-£350, so a fair bit more than the GTS which was doing aswell if not better in some reviews.

Point taken on the PSU though, I'll get the Corsair TX650w. Also I'll look at the Thermalright 120a cooler, seems a number of people reckon on that.

Thanks, AStaley.

The Zalman 9700 in the original post is way better than the ACF7P and not far behind the Tuniq Tower. I've got or had all of 'em.....

Another vote for the Corsair although wouldn't you prefere the 'modular' HX620W instead of the captive cabled TX version?

Used the Ultra-120 for a while now, super heatsink and very easy to install (and re-install), they dropped in price to sub £30 now which is nice :)
