Long time lurker first time poster!

Ive been out the country for nearly a year and hav'nt really been keeping a breast of most recent updates in hardware, I want to upgrade my system when I get back home

My current set up is

CD2 E6600 @ 3.2Ghz
Asrock Twins1600 P43
2GB of DDR2 ram 800Mhz
4850 ATI 512MB

Im thinking of

Getting a Q9550
or
4GB of DDR3 1333Mhz ram for the future (mainly cos the twins can do it) and OCing my E6600 further
or
5850 to replace my 4850

Budget is about 300 quid

My main usage is Heavy Gaming, Emulating and photoshop work, I currently use two 19" 1280x1024 displays with possibility of getting a 1900x1080 in the future

Any advice would be appreciated

Ram is expensive but 4GB is needed so I'd get that.

What's left drop it into your GFX card. 5830 out shortly should be nice upgrade :)

I agree with what the previous poster said.

It maybe easier and cheaper to get 4GB of 1066MHZ DDR2 for around £72 instead:

There is both high voltage and low voltage DDR3 so you would need to check what type your motherboard can take.

I would also look at the HD5830 when it comes out in the first week of Feburary.

A Q9550 would be a good upgrade for your Photoshop work though.
