Hi,

I`m new to the forum but have been a guest for a long time. I recently purchased several bits to replace my Q6600 rig.

i5 4670k
MSI Z87 G43
16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
Corsair 650w CS650M PSU
Corsair H80i
Antec P182 (existing case)

All built well but the temps were terrible i.e 90c+ @ stock with IBT. (Adaptive off). I read many forums about the H80i backplate issue and the arguments that it was not an issue. I remounted it a few times with the same temps.

I used four of rubber washers I got with my Coolermaster Blademaster fans and now the backplate did not wiggle and the retention screws were now flush with the mobo. Installed again but also this time rotated the pump block 90 degrees.

Now OC'd @ 4.6Ghz @ 1.250vcore
Temps now. Idle 25c, IBT or Prime95 @ 75c max so far. Aida64 62c.
Well chuffed now. Plus I now use a positive air pressure and glad to feel cool air from the PC.

Looks like a pretty ok chip, and thats a pretty good temp drop. 75c under p95 on theese little toasters of cpu's is quite decent.

Need another big jump for 4.7Ghz = 1.3v but not stress tested.

Now at 4.7Ghz but with 1.325v eeek. It can do 4.8Ghz stable but with insane 1.375v.
What's the max voltage 1.35v?
