Hi,

The spec of my new pc:

Processor: Intel CPU i7 875K OC Quad Core Processor
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD7
Graphics: Asus NVIDIA GTX 480
Hard Drive: 120GB SSD OCZ Technology Vertex 2 Solid State Drive
Case: Coolermaster case Cosmos 1000
PSU: Coolermaster 1000 W Silent Pro Gold
RAM: G-Skill 4GB Ripjaws DDR3 PC12800-1600Mhz Cas7 Kit
CPU cooler: Thermalright MUX-120
PCI Wireless card: EDIMAX EW-7728In
DVD drive: LG GH22LS50

I've just spent the weekend putting it together. The problem is, when I turn it on, I get no signal on my monitor. I know the monitor and HDMI cable works as I use it for my laptop.

I suspect it is the gfx card that is having problems, although I'm just guessing. I've tried it in both PCIEX16 slots and still no signal. Tried it with an HDMI cable with HDMI>mini HDMI adapter as well as HDMI>DVI adapter.

The motherboard has a debug LED which shows various hexadecimal values, eventually ending on FF, which the mobo manual says is "Boot attempt (INT 19h). I just stays on this and the various other LEDs on the mobo (such as the phase LEDs) go out.

Any ideas? Is my gfx card knackered? Is my mobo error code trying to tell me something else?

Thanks,
T.

both power cables plugged into the GTX480?

the motherboard has both the 24pin and 8pin plugged in?

try just one ram stick at a time and in different slots, repeat with other sticks of ram.

The only thing I can think of is that the pins on the 8 pin mobo power lead are in the wrong order. The numbers 1-8 are in a different order on the 2 4 pin cables to the numbers 1-8 pictured in the mobo manual.
