Hi

Since the new AMD chips are out, I think now is the time to build myself a new PC.

So what would you recommend.

Need; CPU, MOBO, RAM and GFX.

What I already have;

1080p 144hz Monitor
XFX Black Edition 750w Fully Modular PSU
Fractal R5 Case
Windows 10
Keyboard and Mouse
3 x 240GB SSD's - ideally I'd like a 500GB one also.
Windows 10.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Intel is faster at 1080p, least 20fps is games on average

2070 super might be a bit overkill

Most likely need a good cooler like Dark Rock 4 as well

Cheers Orbital.

Obviously I’m wanting longevity and possible upgrade to 1440p or above in the future.

Intel still the way to go?

as for longevity - 8 core intel and ryzen will last a while ! as in terms of their technology they'll easily be surpassed unlike intels of old. Because of AMD he have gone from 10 years of intel 4 cores to reaching 10 cores in the space of 2.5 years !
AMD have shrunk their CPU node from 28nm in 2014 to 14nm in 2016 and now 7nm in 2019 with 5nm in next two years . Least with ryzen in 4 years time you can chuck in a 16 + core unit, but most likely an entry Zen6/7 will be faster and better lol

will now personally only recommend 8 cores and splash cash on CPU with Ryzen

@Journey has bene doing testing with 6 core ryzen 3600 and its a beast! will be ditching my own poor performing 3.9ghz 2700 8 core to ryzen 3600 6 core as it can match multithread performance but for me, its single core performance and speed is key for gaming !

Thanks for the information. Just want to make sure splashing the money will at least be viable for at least a good few years.

The Super GFX cards are all pre-orders?

What would you recommend if I was to order today?

Thanks.

more then enough for 1080p 144hz gaming! same performance as 2070 rtx !

save some cash and still killing FPS! actually, should be able to upscale to 1440p!!!
