Hi,

So it's been a while since I've spec'ed a machine and as a result I'm a bit of of touch with hardware these days :(

So I am tunring to you guys for help!

I've got a budget of £1000 (this does not include case, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.) only for components.

It will not be used for gaming but will be used to run multiple vitrusl machines, watch videos/record videos, and play music/record music.

The only requiremnts I have is that it will have 32GB RAM and a decent sound card!

I've always had AMD but these days I belive Intel is better? I've also always had Nvidia, but due to recent experiances I'm open to conversion! :D

Can you please help me spec something up, also, a SSD for the OS is a must.

I don't know much about virtual machines, do these use a lot of CPU power or GPU Power? Im guessing they need a lot of RAM too. :)

What case do you have?

It depends...not so much GPU power but they do need a lot of RAM and yes probably quite a bit of CPU power for what I want to do.

There is a few dual CPU motherboards floating around :D

I do like your choise of CPU! I was very tempted with that choice...it is the best part of half the budget though :D maybe I could persuade someone to buy other parts as an Xmas pressie :D
