Hi...
New member user name Kyllachy..(my online poker name lol...)
My new build has been running about a week smoothly..Fractal r4, Fractal 1000w psu gold(was cheap return with eu psu 2-pin plug), i5 2500k cpu, p8z77-m-lx mb, 8gb corsair 1600 xms ram borrowed from old build to test new rig,256gb ocz vector ssd windows 10 loaded, 1tb Hitachi hdd, evga GTX 570 graphics card.
Yesterday the power popped tripping electricsand the rig would not power up...After changing the kettle plug it started but popped again a few hours later. Again changed the kettle lead and also after a number of checks noticed there was cramped room between back of pc and wall bending the kettle plug lead. Rig is running so far. Would appreciate any advice regarding what caused the fault. The mb, psu and graphics card were all bought cheaply as returns so could be faulty but have been running smoothly. Suspect mb maybe 1-2 pins out of line or psu faulty but rig is very quiet and shows low temps and stable voltages on HW cupid Monitor. What software do you advise to check system?

Hello & welcome

The PSU would be the culprit, anything on the low voltage side tends not to trip the main incomer.

I would look at changing the PSU, your system does not pull high power so a quality 500 - 550 w psu would be fine.

Software wise, look at HW Monitor - actually your already using :)

psu faulty

Many thanks...
I will monitor to see if it crashes again.. Trying psu to see if its ok... Have seasonic 650 and antec tp 650 nto swap out (bought second hand).. Both working ok. So will swap out in future. I tshould not hurt my rig to run as is for now as previous power trips had no effect on system as far as I can tell./.
Cheers Kyllachy..

No more crashes...voltages and temps stable...my power trips quite often so maybe the cramped cable or socket was faulty...
