I have just built a new computer but am having a few problems!

I have three hard drives installed two of which I added after the initial OS install, whilst they all show in the CMOS and in device manager they are not showing in 'Computer'

The OS is Vista Home Premium x64

At some point I want to have a system disk and two data disks one mirroring the other (so I have a back up of the data disk - Is this Raid 1).

But first it would e nice to see all of my disks!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martin

The system is shown below: Except there are three samsung 500gb dirves and I didnt use the Akasa cooler (its a long story)!

as they're new drives they'll need partitioning/formatting first. using disk management in windows to do this. start, run

diskmgmt.msc

:)

At a guess, I would say you just need to give them drive letters - or format them. I'm running XP at the minute, but I think in Vista it's pretty much the same, so try this:

1) Log in with an admin account
2) Start > Right Click "Computer" > Manage
3) Choose Disk Management on the left.
4) All your disks should show on the bottom display - so you should have 3 + however many optical drives you have.
5) Right click on one of the new (unrecognised) drives - select format. This will erase any data on the disk, so make sure you pick the right one.
6) Follow on-screen instructions.
7) Do steps 5 and 6 for the other disk.
8) Restart
9) Do they now appear?
