New build Problem. Help please :(

Recently purchased the following:

Gigabyte X58A UD3R
i7 920
Asus 5850
Samsun F3 1TB
Patriot Viper 3 x 2GB
Coolermaster ATCS 840

So. I have built the PC etc and hit the power button. Everything seems OK, fans on case all start up, GPU fan and CPU fan all start up, disc drive is working, no beeps etc....but I am not getting any picture from my GFX card and neither my mouse or keyboard are working either.

I have tried different PCIE socket for the GFX card, different USB socekts etc for the mouse/keyboard and absoultly nothing from them. Ive checked and triple checked all my connections yet not getting any change at all.

I guess it could be a dodgy mobo, but before I go down that route any1 got any other ideas/suggestions I could try?

What PSU do you have?

Have you used the motherboard standoffs?

Using Corsair HX 750w Modular PSU, and yeah I used the Motherboard standoffs as well.

Have you plugged in the power connectors to your graphics card? (six and eight pin ones, depending on type of card)

If you have an old video card spare I suggest you swap it with the HD5850 as they have been known to cause problems with booting on first installation.

Try the obvious first. Check the monitor and the monitor cable before making any assumptions.

If they are okay, can you check the GC in another machine, or get hold of a spare or cheap PCI-E card, say for £20. It's always good to keep swappables for just this case.
