Hi all recieved all my lovely goods today and set about putting it together. nothing seems to unsual. lots of wires. etc. connections and screws. well powered up and the led on the cpu lit. all fans went. gFc fan started then it just restarts. wont go any further than that. wont even power the monitor.

Tried disconnection anthing that could take power. swopped the power cables. removed and installed equipment. reset cmos. disconnected all the power to other devices. have both powerconnection on MOBo. tried adding the extra power connection to MOBO for sli, even though only have one GFC but just getting restarts. it's not even bring up the bios. no post code errors.

well its getting later and thought maybe someone might have a suggestion

theres one of the problems. everything is new and dont ahve another pci e slot machine that can check gfc. have read about the rebooting with gigabyte but 6 reboots and still nothing,.

[Q] Is it normal that the system will reboot during its first power on after BIOS memory setting changed ? (965P-DQ6, 965P-DS4, 965P-DS3,965P-S3) – FROM GB’S FAQ
[A] For 965P-DQ6, 965P-DS4, 965P-DS3, 965P-S3 motherboard, if the memory setting is not the chipset spec of 800/ 667/533 MHz in the BIOS setting during system installation, then the system will re-write the initial motherboard parameter when the first boot after BIOS seeting. After the re-write is done, the system will reboot. The shutdown and reboot after the first power on is normal situation.

Ok found the problem.

Tried different ram and pci card. £32 for nothing.

The Zalman fan had a different cpu fan socket. installed where normally cpu fan. but thats the System fan on the gigabyte board. After changing back to orginal fan. it boots. Has a 4 pin cpu socket.

so installing as i type.
