New build problem

Hi chaps! Just finished my new build,
Asus P5Q pro
e4000 wolfdale
4 gig ocz ram 8500
650w corsair psu
powercolor 4870
seagate barracuda 250gig

Installed windows fine (xp32bit) loaded in the asus mother bored drivers, it rebooted and now ive lost my cd rom drive.
Its running IDE and makes a realy funny sound at start up, like its serching for a cd, evan when theres nothing inside. The drives fine tried it with two diffrent one's and it does the same thing. Thanks for any help chaps! Realy wana get cod4 installed!

i have the same mobo and the same thing happened to me ( the cd noise )
and i know this is crap help as i cant remember for the life of me what i done to get rid of it, but its gone now.
how old is the xp install ?

fresh install m8

Just looking on google now see if there is any fixes.

no i mean the copy of xp,
as mine was pre sp1 and i think my slow bootups and issues lay with that even after sp1 2 3 were installed

pritty new sp3 on it, can't think of what it could be.gona go have a mess with the bios

i also updated the bois via the asus update software, downloaded from asus site then used the update tool in flash bois. sorry cant be of much help. thank god for this forum hey !
