Just built my new i5, turned it on and everything spings up, lights etc. No beeps off the board, specs are:

i5 750
4gig Ripjaw
GD-65
OCZ Modstream 420W
7900GT

I have only just removed the PSU from my old PC so its isn't that, no other CPU to try, possibly the motherboard then?

Will try and take out and put the monitor cable back in, see if it works.

Any other posibilities?

haha sorry guys, I have been sat eating my dinner looking my old case and remembered something about the DIM slots. As I was eager to get the thing up I thought logic would mean that the first slot would be DIM 1, when actually it is the second slot so I will go and try it out and fire her up :)

Yeah that worked, all in the learning progress :D Gonna keep the old windows install on there and see how it is, wanna get an hour on some games to see the performance.

Edit - Now when I restart my PC, it turns off, powers up for about 5 seconds, then shuts off and powers on again for around 5 seconds. It does this 4 times before it actually boots up into windows... can't find anything on the net about it!! :(

Before i changed them over all of the fans would go on like they usualy would when booting up, but tnothing came up on the screen.

Nope, is that taking out the battery? Will that have any side effects like loosing any programs etc.

Yo im back!

That seemed to have done the trick mate! Thanks for your help man appreciate it so much!

I guess this means I can start to overclock!

Remember I sent you that email for your overclock details, was wondering if you have started? I willl be doing it tomorrow I expect and hoping it will be a good experience.

Thanks again man, so helpful!

What do you think about hitting the OC Genie button to see whats what?

I reckon it will be pretty risky with the awful stock fan and all, but that part of me is pushing me to press it. I hate the way its just there staring at me.

Using Realtemp im apprently getting temps of around 35degrees. I dont know how you get the pics up of the software screens however, so I can't post a screenie.

EDIT - Weirdly that was before I reset CMOS, just done another run and am getting 37 37 40 35 which is slighly higher, but I guess its just room temp building as my PC has been on a few hours.

Aye, you playing with OC Genie now or going to leave it into the morning?

I also noticed im getting 0.952 voltage, isn't that pretty good even at stock, or is that normal?

Its doing what exactly?

Basically when I restart or switch off then on, it will spin all the fans etc and HDD makes noise all like normal. Then after about 9 seconds it will turn off and switch itself back on again. It will do that 3 times before finally loading up properly.

However, I have just tried booting with 1 stick instead of 2 sticks of RAM and it seems to be working perfectly, so im going to try the other stick and see if that's the trouble maker.

*EDIT* tried with the other stick and it works fine as well. going to try it once more with both sticks.

*EDIT* unbelievable, plugged the other stick back in and now they are both working perfectly, restarted fine and worked fine when i shut down and powered on again.
