Hello, I recently got a new machine, but it keeps on crashing. I think it might be a hardware issue but I can not seem to pin it down?
Mobo: MSI Z87-G43 (Got it for the 3 video outs)
Mem: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB)
CPU: i5-4570 + Akasa cooler
+ Seagate 2TB + Case + PSU + Win 8.1
I reinstalled Win 8.1 Pro about 3 times and it appears to crash/BSOD for various reasons? to the point(s) where it would not boot anymore (not even safe mode) - I got to the point of thinking it really bad software. So I Installed Win 7. But once in a while I still get Blue Screened. And just now it had problems getting past the BIOS screen. I had to re-power it about 3 times.
The last 2 Win 7 crashes say PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA / SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I lost of Win 8.1 info, but from my memory they were mostly different.
I have run MemTest86 and Prime95 for a few hours each, and there was no issue. I dont know of any motherboard testing software?
It appears the errors happen more when the computer is dead cold / been off for many hours.
Oh - I've tried the standard MS drivers and the latest Intel ones & the new BIOS which has just been released.
One odd comment - After coming out of Hibernate today (not standby), Windows complained it could not find a system dll... but I noticed it was looking for
"api-ms-vin-core-localregistry-l1-1-0.dll" and it should have been
"api-ms-win-core-localregistry-l1-1-0.dll" which existed ?
It sounds like iffy memory? but I would love a second opinion
Regards,
Matt
