Hi all

I recently posted on here about getitng help speccing a system...Now ive put it all together im having some problems..

System

4 gig ram
250gig seagate barracuda
geforce 9800gtx
antec 900 case
OCZ 600w power supply
Asus PK5 pro motherboard
Q6600 processor
Windows XP Home

Basically every time i restart the pc after a system change (drivers etc) the system hangs when it comes back into windows. I then click the reset button and it comes back fine.

Anyone got any ideas as this is really annoying

thanks in advance

I did initially have this running on windows vista 64 but due to the problems i tried xp again

how do i check?

You'll need to go into the BIOS (when the pc 1st starts up, its normally something like ESC or one of the F-buttons) and you'll be able to see the voltages used in there. Make sure you know what the recommended voltages are for your particular memory before changing anything :)

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 (OCZ2G8004GK)

is the memory i bought. so it would be 800?

Thats the speed of the memory, not the voltage. Your ram packaging should say a voltage setting on it some where, such as 1.8-1.9v or 2.1v or 2v-2.2v something like that. If not it will be written on the ram itself on a small label.

ok the ram has a voltage of 1.8 which ive set in the bios...the problem is still occurring

i have also tried 1 stick of ram and the problem is still there

any more ideas?

thanks again :)

just updated the bios and have done 4 reboots in a row and no hanging..fingers crossed this has sorted it :D
