Hey there

So I have just put together my new/upgraded system, specs:

E2180 2.00GHz
2GB DDR2 Ram
HD3850 256MB

Now the problem is, I installed a 320GB SATA HDD that I was using on my old PC and is/was running Windows XP Professional, so I started the computer up, it powered up and it said something about a SATA HDD running in IDE mode (Because this HDD has both a 4 pin molex power connector and a SATA power connector thing). I thought nothing of it at first and just carried on, switched the boot properties around in the BIOS so it boots from the XP disc (cos I have gone from single-core to dual-core). So my system restarted and I booted up the windows disc and it detected my HDD and I could select to repaid the install etc. So then I rebooted again and the SATA running as IDE message came up again and it asked me about if I wanted to change it to ACPI or something and I clicked yes by accident.

Next I decided to try another HDD in the computer, one that was pre-installed with Windows XP Home edition on a pre-built HP Pavilion that I was using but with a better GPU etc. So I installed it etc, but Windows can't detect the any HDD installed on my system, so I turn off the PC and remove the Pavilion HDD I had just installed and tried again with the one that was previously working but now that HDD isn't being detected by Windows either...so now I can't get any of the drives to be detected and I have tried messing about with the settings in the BIOS but it has made no difference. Does anyone have any idea what has happened and how I can solve the problem please?

Thanks for your help and time.
