Hope you knowledgable people can help me.

I built my PC last night, this morning I tried to start it up but with major problems, everything spins up for 1 second then shuts down for 1 second and the tries to start again with the same problem.

This is only my second build, so I have probably done something daft, sounds like I have something shorting, the motherboard is sitting on the metal standoffs.

Help, please:(

The best thing you can do is remove all the bits and pieces and start again. Seriously I am not trying to be funny. This time round use the manual which came with the motherboard. It will tell you basically the sequence in which things should be installed and how to install them.

Pay particular attention to the connectors from the PSU to the motherboard they need to be correctly inserted and pressed firmly down till they latch.

My initial thoughts when I read this post was that you have bent the pins of the socket. :(
