New Build Problems

Ok so I've built my self a new pc however im having a lot of issues. All air cooled. Spec is:

Intel 2600K
Asus P8P67 Deluxe
Sapphire 6950 (Stock)
Geil 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Asus Donar DX PCI-E Sound Card
Corsair 800D
Crucial C300 128GB SSD
Corsair HX620
3 Other HDD (640 WD Black, 640 Samsung, 500 WD Black)

First Problem is my graphics card i think. Everytime i turn the pc on, the first time it wont display anything on my monitor. I have to turn it off and back on again to get it to work. This happens from cold boot and if i just shut it down. Im also getting no display on the 2nd screen. Main screen is connected via DVI and 2nd is through VGA (with adaptor). This problem exists outside of windows. On my previous build with the same monitors, the bios would duplicate its self onto the 2nd screen. When trying to enable the screen in windows it just says it cant save settings.

Second problem is my SSD. Within windows its lightning fast but id estimate it takes about 5x as long to boot into windows than my old WD Black 640GB. I installed windows with that as the only drive connected (bar optical) and have ACHI set in bios. Its plugged into a Sata 6Gbs port.

Third problem is my soundcard. Its not detected by the PC. I have tried reseating it several times and tried a different molex connection with no change. I only have 2x PCI E 1x slots and the other is covered by the graphics card. Will it act the same if i put it in a x16 slot? I've tried disabling onboard sound and it made no difference.

Any help would be very gratefully recieved otherwise it looks like its RMA time on everything :(

Odd to be having all those issues at once.... I'm wondering if it's a chipset driver problem or problem with the SB..

are you sure the C300 is in the 6gb SATA port?

It was definatly in a Sata 6 port. Motherboard looks like this:

S6 S6 (Marvell)
S6 S6 (Intel)
S3 S3 (Intel)
S3 S3 (Intel)

I've not tried the Sata 3gb ports yet. I tried the marvell 6gb port this morning and windows bluescreens. The manual says that can be only used with data drives, but shouldnt make a difference. I will try a 3gb port when i get home from work and then try reinstalling Windows. I will also update the firmware, although it doesnt say anything about issues with boot times.

I will test the soundcard at work today in another machine otherwise il just rma it.

From reading http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18223463&highlight=6950+dvi specifically post 2, it seems one of the ports doesnt work with a DVI to VGA adapter so if i switch them around or use a hdmi cable + dvi adapter i should be ok.

Still doesnt solve the other problems.

Edit: From reading the asus forums, it seems a lot of problems to be relating to memory. Lots of people reporting it not booting from cold, being related to memory errors. Also one guy who said his sound card is no longer working as well.

When i get home il try different sata ports, update ssd firmware, update motherboard bios, clear cmos and try some different ram.

2nd Edit: I've actually got a 2nd identical motherboard i can test with as well after all that, was a mis ship i presume.
