New Build PSU for Titan X

Hi,

Been building my very first rig for the past couple of months, very pleased with the results so far (spec in my sig)

There's no graphics card in there yet but I think I'm going to treat myself with a Titan X.

A 600w PSU came with my case (Fractal branding) so I'm assuming it will not be powerful enough for a Titan X along with the rest of the components I already have.

Can someone recommend a PSU please?

I'd prefer a fully modular PSU and would really like it to be quiet. Am I looking at a minimum of around 1000w ? and does it need to have both 6pin and 8 pin power leads?

Thanks

Are you sticking with one card? Or you going sli? System wattage with Gpu at full stress test is about 334watts. Therefor 600-650 should be fine depending on the quality of your psu. If you want to future proof your system with 1 single card evga 750 g2 is a good choice. If you're going SLI, you'll be needing a 1000w.

Thanks for your replies.

Definitely one card for now, but maybe another if I can justify whatever the price point will be in another 9-12 months for a second card. So to future proof, 1000w or greater it is then?

I've been looking at the SuperFlower's but from an aesthetic point of view (not liking the mobo connector colours) I remain undecided, although my final decision wouldn't be based on just that.

Also been looking at this one, EVGA SuperNova 1300 G2

Are 6 & 8 pins standard on the higher watt PSUs? As I can't seem to find any reference to them on the EVGA listing. (Please correct me if I don't need both)

Also, in the EVGA product description it states "NVIDEA SLI Certified" ... so if I was to get a 2nd Titan X in the future should I really be looking for this statement or is it just some marketing bumpf?

Thanks again

If you want a PSU that can comfortably handle sli Titan-x's you dont need 1300w

Really a quality 850w unit would be adaquete,i would still recommend a 1000w so you have loads of room for overclocking tho anyway

Either of these would be ideal choices
YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £134.99
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £129.95
Total : £274.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Regarding the 6/8pins,yea these are standard and these PSU's have options for both(any semi decent PSU will tbh),
