Hi,

I didn't really know what I was after previously and having had a look around I have decided it's about time I also played a few more games on the PC.

Aiming for a very quick PC for development work (multiple applications open all the time + testing/debugging), plus also a bit of video editing and of course suitable to upgrade if required for gaming if I do get back into it.

I am after it being as quiet as possible whilst working, but when gaming I am not too fussed as will most likely have headphones on.

This is my current basket - it may well be overkill for what I need? or possibly ok for me to update when I increase to gaming on 4k monitors in the future (I want multiple monitors for work, but will only use a single screen for gaming I imagine).

I am aware it's missing monitors (I am after 2 x 24" the same, not 4k at this stage) suitable for gaming and work, and also a CPU cooler (Quieter the better) and a storage solution, I was looking at a M.2 for the OS and another SSD for additional storage, also is the PSU ok for the components/power required, or again more than is required (this could be replaced in the future if I did upgrade anything else).

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,119.52
(includes shipping: £14.70)

All suggestions appreciated, I was trying to keep the cost of this build down but I don't appear to be doing very well at that so far...

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions, I have amended the items a little now, and added a couple (still trying to keep the costs down, maybe a smaller/cheaper cooler would be sufficient).

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,194.49
(includes shipping: £14.70)

I think that cooler should fit in the case (according to the product details).

Still looking for some monitors and also I imagine thermal paste for the cooler? on my last build I used arctic silver, or are there better alternatives?

Up to date list with 2x monitor (want ones with a thin bezel), although I may just get one now and make do with one of my other monitors (I have a NEC 24WMGX + another Samsung 24" but the NEC screen has a few issues and the Samsung is on my old build that I let the children use.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,592.83
(includes shipping: £28.02)

All looking good, I think I will use my existing monitors for a month or so and then buy a couple as it should reduce the impact of a new build just before Christmas!
