New build query

Hey all,

This may well be a stupid question but, im in the process of building a new pc, new mobo, ram, psu, case, cooling etc, but i want to keep the same processor, gpu and hard drives.

Ive currently got windows 7 setup on an ssd with a few other programs and all my games and data on a 1tb drive.

If i just take the ssd from my old system, plug it into the new mobo will it boot into windows ?

Probably, but you'll be much better off and prob see better performance from a fresh reinstall.

The ssd is only a few months old anyway so its not cluttered.

you may find that it does not boot due to driver clashes ect on first boot, maybe worth unistalling all your drivers before swaping over, but like said before you are much better doing a clean install.
