I've been searching these forums for a week or so and I'm still slightly confused with regards to which components to get.

My budget is up2 £1000 but with things as tight as they are at the moment, the lower the better.

The rig will be for Gaming in general and I have a 22" monitor at 1680x1050.

My main confusion is with regards to the Mobo and Ram. Ive decided that i'll get a E8500 and a 4870, but there is a big price difference in DDR2 RAM @ 6400 and 8500 and I'm not sure what difference it will make in Games (FPS increase) (4GB either RAM) as i'll be using Vista

Also I've been looking at the P5Q mobo. Is there a cheaper alternative?

I'll be looking to overclock the CPU too 3.8Ghz - 4GHZ With a decent Zalman Cooler.

Any Ideas and Help would be much appreciated.

You're proposing to spend lots on your other components, so don't skimp on a MoBo.

There may be cheaper alternatives, but the P5Q series (pro, E, Delux etc) have a good reputation and are recognised as being good for clocking.
