New Build Question

Quick Question, I have built several PC's before but all with IDE HDD.
After some suggestions from people on this site I am building an AMD Quad Core with SATA HDD, my first SATA PC
The motherboard is a Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P, I notice the BIOS default has SATA set at 'Native IDE' do I leave this as is? Will I still need to install the SATA drivers when installing windows XP?

When I installed my SATA in XP a couple of years ago I had the drivers ready on a floppy mate.

Yep its only after Service pack one or two that sata was supported
