Hi all.
I am planning a new build soon, hopefully by the end of the year / early January.
I don't currently have a gaming pc, but I want to get back into gaming.

With the new skylake processors just around the corner, should I go for one of those, or just get a current devils canyon processor?

I want to play at 1440p resolution, and wanted a gtx 970, but I also like the gtx 980ti, is the 980ti worth it over the 970 for 1440?

Also monitors, 1440p @ 60hz or 1440p @ 144hz, I know the latter is still quite expensive but just wondered people opinions.

Finally, does g-sync really make that much difference?

Just looking at options and people opinions for now to give me more ideas.

Cheers.

Wait for Skylake - if the leaked benchmarks are to be believed there is real improvement coming.

980ti is a monstrously good card for the money. Built a system recently with a 980ti and Asus Rog Swift - the quality was utterly jaw-dropping.

144hz is worth it in my opinion. Again, watching the Rog Swift in action convinced me there's a real difference.

G-Sync does make a difference, again based on watching the monitor above.
