Ok,

CPU, GFX, RAM, Sound = good, pretty confident there ok, that was the easy bit.

Motherboard = so-so, theres things not pluged in but im not sure if they NEED to be

Hard drives - think i have them in ok

disk drive - still need to attempt that

but my question is,
IF i did happen to connect something wrong, like the hard drives for example, or disk drive, would i break it!? or would it just come up when you start the PC "no drive found" and stop there, like it does with keyboards an things?

lot of money to throw down the pot if i break it hehe

If you physically force something in a socket it shouldn't be in, then you're likely to break something.

There's not much you can do wrong with modern PCs though, the SATA interface is fairly bullet-proof. You'd just need to create a partition, format it and then install your OS. :)

/\ As p4radox said just be gentle, most mobos come with some kind of step by step guide for connecting up. the easiest thing to get wrong are the front panel connections for the reset and power switches etc. Just take your time with it.

If you are really not sure about something take some pics and ask :)
