Building a custom water rig in a lian li v2000B..cant decide on a PA160 Rad or a PA120.3 rad or even 2xPA160..which would be easier to install?..I assume preformance would be about on a par...
PA160 is 160x160 = 25600. PA120.3 is 120x120x3 = 43200
2x PA160 = 51200
I suggest you make a paper model of the size of each rad and then see where they could go in your case. 2 x PA160 would give fantastic cooling but may be harder to fit in a case.
but only if the 120.3 couldent cope..only then would you see difference..I would imagine?
I will make a couple of templates and try what you suggested.
PA160 fits in front with no modding. Just remove the front HDD uprights.
PA120.3 requires floor to be cut and all but front HDD removed. Front HDD rails need relocating 47mm further towards front of case. Front 120mm fan needs putting on opposite side of it's bracket. PSU plate needs inverting, and PSU support drilling out / removing.
Thermal Dissipation? PA120.3 can cope with in excess of double the heatload that a PA160 can cope with with the same airflow per fan.
oh yes..I llike the 120.3 ....mounted looks very neat ..thats my way forward thanks for the info...its come a long way since my ,Tom Leufken water-cooling kit car heater rad...heater hose ,open water tank top of psu cringe, cooling a Tbird..that was pretty brave 6 years ago . looks like it could have fell to bits at any moment
