Building a new rig (i7 4790, Asus vii Hero) and when it comes to ram i'm lost, the Avexir 16Gb sticks that are on offer the now look really good but as I said when it comes to ram i'm lost.

the ram you picked is pretty good for the money
theres also these,better timings and cheaper but depends what cooler your using,you don't want it to hit the tall ram heatspreaders

do you really need 2666mhz? 2133-2400mhz is sufficient but upto you and your budget
you want some low profile ram imo

I don't really know, I built a first gen i7 rig 4 years ago and all I've changed in that is the gpu. 4 years ago I was educated on this stuff...now, not so much. The avexir isn't too pricey and has a decent discount, was looking around 120/130 for 16GB. What's the deal With the avexir spec? Is it higher than needed.
