Just put some new kit together to replace an aging Q6600 Plex server.
I went for -
Asus H110 D3 Trooper Mobo
i5 cpu
Crucial Ballistix 2x4gb DDR3 1600mhz
All has gone well except it won't boot with both sticks of ram I.e. Dual channel. Both sticks and slots work fine if used one at a time so I don't think it's faulty ram. The vendors list seems to state that the RAM is compatible but the part no on the QVL is slightly different to mine.
The supported one says BLS4G3D1609DS1S00.16FMR and mine is BLS4G3D1609DS1S00.16FER2
Am I right in thinking this is just a compatibility issue? I've tried updating the bios to no avail sadly.
Any ideas? Or is it time to swap the ram for an alternative? And if so what would you recommend that might work? Could take a trip to OC tomorrow but it's not down the road so don't want to get more stuff that doesn't work!
