I'm looking to replace my brothers shop purchased PC - some prebuilt from a big high street retailer - an I3, NVidia GT6xx... It must be 2 or 3 years old now and isn't particularly upgradeable given a 300W PSU.

Anyway, it's xmas and I'd like to replace his PC with something a bit more capable.

He has a monitor (1080P) and peripherals and I have a 6 month old MSI 8GB 290X + Windows 7 License from an old PC that I intend to reuse.

My only concerns are the 290X runs hot (or did when it was driving a 4k display) so wanted to ensure that airflow/heat was managed.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

(includes shipping: £14.70)

That's probably a couple of hundred more than I'd like to spend so would appreciate your ideas on a decent mid-range gaming build - budget 6-700 with no gfx card or peripherals.

Thanks,
SV

You could comfortably drop down to a 550w-650w PSU and shave a few more pennies.
