New Build request for information

Hi folks,

I am going to build a new system. However, I have been off for a while, so need some updates.

What is the latest Intel CPU? What are the new North and South bridges chipsets? What is the latest prices of SSD?

For the latest technologies, you need to be looking at the Intel Ivy Bridge chips - the i5 3570K and i7 3770K are the ones usually recommended. These go with a Z77 chipset. SSDs are still around £1/GB, see here.

Generally what people do is spec a budget and tell us what the machine is for. We can then suggest "a basket" for you to purchase. The good spec guys on this forum will often explain why they have chosen what and will make good use of the daily and weekly offers.

Yep.

GPU wise, there is the AMD 78**/79** series aswell as the GTX 680/670.
