New build sense check

As above - the AMD mantra to motherboard manufacturers to make the x570 boards 'more premium/expensive' has backfired for the home builder's in the know (especially as no appearance of B550s).

Agreed. The choice is really between B450 and TRX40.

For closure, this is the build I went with. Ordered late on Thursday and expecting the delivery on Saturday... Will finally get to play RDR2, Battlefield, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Got some free games (Monster Hunter & Resident Evil 3) and 6 months of Xbox Game pass for PC bundled in with it all. Not sure I chose the best monitor but I'm not overly fussy about that so went with something fairly bog standard. Also went for the lower end B450 MSI board as I am not planning on doing any overclocking.

Little bit disappointed I missed out on PCIE4 which both the CPU and graphics support, but I don't think they would be utilising that bandwidth and it won't make any material difference to performance.

This should be generations ahead of my Phenom II X4, Geforce GTX 950, and 1680 x 1050 monitor with 7-8 dead thunderflies stuck in it from summers past!!
