NEW BUILD SETUP

hi,

right just built my pc and want to make sure that every thing is running fine! wat programs can i use to do this? also a mis question my hard drive activetiy is very high (100%) when idle wat could be casuing this? (considering that it is a new build not even connected to the internet)

Prime95 test for stability - also Intel Burn Test but thats more severe, try prime first
To check your temps are ok theres CPU-z and everest
Cant think why your HDD would be going if not connected to internet yet, my first thought was updates but if youre not connected then thats that one out the window

the hdd usage will probably be down to windows indexing, will calm down in a day or so

wots your os?
I found Vista was doing some indexing that got my drives at max usage.

my os is vista 64 bit! has calmed down a bit though!

If system is new then will probably be indexing. Look in processes and you'll prob see searchindexer poping up

Yeh that happened to me. It dies down after about 2-4 days depending on how big ur HDD is.
